What is it that makes these games engaging?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> James Paul Gee is a lead researcher with games and learning and has stated that games allow players to create their own identities, mold the game play, provide immediate feedback, and link real world opportunities to game play. One aspect that Gee and Hayes have researched around games and learning is the aspect of engaging players through problem solving spaces. Games that are difficult to pass or are not enjoyable would not sell to players. Players enjoy games that provide purpose through challenging problems incorporating autonomy and creativity (<a href=\"https:\/\/foyle.us\/INTE6750\/resources\/references\/\">McDowall, 2016<\/a>). Gee and Hayes also state that games that allow players to modify the game aid in the engagement and sustainment within a game. Where does formal schooling fall into games and learning?
